Lord Musterland Caravans, located in Germany, better known as L.M.C, have, over the years, enjoyed a reputation of being fully equipped and excellently built.
In the winter of 1950 two friends named Austerman and Hartmann decided to build a caravan to take on fishing trips and camping. The success of their first caravan gave them an opportunity to build and market one to fulfil the needs of customers. Austermann decided that it had to be spacious and easy to tow. In 1955 he produced the popular Austermann Knopse.
After the company was sold in 1966 to Wilhelme Saure of Herdeake, it grew rapidly and 20 years later produced its first motorhome based upon the Fiat Ducato floor plan. This was imported to Nottingham, England before other areas of the UK.
In 1991 the company was again sold and is now owned by a very prestigious European motorhome manufacturer called Hymer. Still operating under the L.M.C logo, and creating its own distinctive motorhomes, they currently build various conversions such as low-profile, A-Class and motorhomes as well as static and touring caravans.
from 2000-2013 the LMC brand received generous investment to bring their manufacturing facilities into the modern era with computer controlled machines. The company invested in waterjet cutting systems and created hail-proof roof designs to name but two innovations.
During the same period the customer support side of the business was expanded. This investment became crucial for the brand to grow it’s reputation by providing excellent customer care with their product after the sale.
In 2018 LMC opened a brand new production facility in Sassenberg. This meant LMC was able to double their production output while maintaining quality thanks to modern production technology and machines.
LMC celebrated it’s 65th anniversary in 2020 and as is customary in the leisure vehicle industry, they release a commemorative special edition. The Van 643 G “65 years edition” Jubilee model came with a significant bag full of extra features but at no extra cost.
LMC has some great models in production at the moment; check out the Element, Cruiser T and Cruiser V. All current LMC come a generous 12 guarantee.
