Carthago – The motorhome! The slogan says it all. One of Europe’s most highly rated premium brands with various models such as the Compactline and Highliner models.
Founded in 1979 by Karl-Heinz Schuler in Germany, Carthago started designing and building motorhomes especially to customer specifications. During the following 10 years they expanded and specialising in converting the Volkswagen bus range they transformed into the 2nd largest converter of motorhomes.
In 1996 Carthago introduced the Ethos and Mondial models; these are based upon the Fiat and Mercedes floorplans.
From 1996 to 2006 Carthago continued introducing various models including the Chic Alkove Series (based upon a Mercedes Sprinter), The M Liner based upon either a Mercedes or Iveco Daily base after ending production on the Volkswagen motorhome designs.
Up to the present day, Carthago has continued to be a master in its class and after introducing the Chic-C-Line range it has continued its rise to power and is now manufacturing motorhomes at four different sites. Carthago is now one of the most successful manufacturers of motorhomes in the upper market sector.
